Alfie Boe Michael Ball Together in Top Ten

Or, to be precise, at number two!  Yes, in the first week of release, Alfie Boe and Michael Ball are Together celebrating entering the UK album chart at number two, just behind Robbie Williams.

Fantastic – well done Alfie and Michael…and to all the fans who have bought the album!  If you haven’t yet, it’s available here:

My favourite track is A Thousand Years which I’m happy to say is sung on their current tour (click here for dates).  However, a close second is the Les Mis Medley and here it is from the first night of the tour in Cardiff (thanks to Linda W for sharing):

Friday Round Up with Alfie Boe: No. 3

Last week we had the chance to hear Alfie on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night, recorded back in October.  All I can say is that it was worth waiting for  – Alfie sang a handful of songs from Serenata and of course the obligatory Bring Him Home.  After all this time, Alfie sings this song differently every time and FNIMN was one of the most moving I’ve heard for a while.  Thanks again to Marcia for sharing:

Tomorrow is of course the first night of the much anticipated tour and last Saturday night saw the number one song revealed on the Alfie Boe Best Ever Live Song poll – if you missed it, here is the result:

Lastly, in a quiet week (rehearsals going at full pace I imagine), Serenata debuted at 14 in the UK album charts and 3 in the classical chart.  The surprise re-entry of You’ll Never Walk Alone in at number 8 on the classical chart shows that people are discovering all types of Alfie music. Go Alfie!
