Exciting Album Teaser – Alfie Boe

Well, August just gets better and better for Alfie Boe fans – in addition to the CarFest appearances, PBS TV specials in the US and the US release of the top 10 album “Storyteller”, not to mention the sell out show at Joe’s Pub in NYC, we now have the title of the new album!!!

Due for possible release in November, the new album features legendary musicians such as Booker T Jones and Leland Sklar and will be titled “Trust”.

I’m sure this title will have fans around the world debating the reasons behind it; my take is simply the trust Alfie puts in us to follow him on his musical journey.

Only the beginning of August and so many happy fans already xx

Amazing Alfie in Amazing August Performances

Great news for Alfie fans this August! If you’re in the UK or USA, August is a great time to see Alfie performing live or on TV.

UK fans can see Alfie perform live at the two BBC Radio 2 Carfest Events in aid of Children In Need. Organised by Chris Evans, the first event at Oulton Park was this weekend, with Alfie performing on Sunday evening. Thanks once again to gorgeous Linda Wellington for sharing “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood”.

The second CarFest performance is on Saturday 24 August at Laverstoke Farm Park, Hampshire. Hopefully, Alfie won’t be too tired from his US trip to promote the US release of his top 10 CD “Storyteller”. US fans will also get the chance to see Alfie’s “Storyteller tour” filmed at the Royal Albert Hall in April which is showing on PBS stations throughout August as part of a pledge drive. Tickets to the 2014 tour may also be available so check your local PBS stations!

As I said, August is a great month for fans as Alfie is also doing a small, intimate gig at Joe’s Pub in NYC. Sadly for some fans but great news for Alfie – the show sold out in hours of going on sale last month.

Hope you like this blog about Alfie and his fans…hope to be back “soon” xx

Alfie Boe Fans – just a great big family

Alfie is the youngest of nine children and is therefore part of a large and loving family.  However, he has also helped to create a large family for the (mostly) female fan base that follows him around from concert to concert.

Since attending my first Alfie event, I have been blessed by meeting so many like minded women, some of whom have become my dearest friends.  I know that if I go (by myself)  to an event where Alfie is appearing, I will find loads of friends who totally understand why I want to follow this amazing singer around.  I also know that they completely understand why I have suddenly felt the need to start writing a blog about him!

I have been lucky to meet Alfie a couple of times and he has always been gracious, warm and willing to spend time with fans.  I firmly believe that famous people get the fans they deserve – and Alfie’s fans are, for the most part, amazingly supportive, welcoming and friendly people. One of them has become a truly great friend and came all the way from Brisbane, Australia to see Alfie in concert. I know, isn’t that fantastic? Several of us told Alfie about it at various stage doors and I’m still not sure he believes that someone would fly half way round the world just to hear his fabulous voice live.
The video here was taken at Blackpool where I was in the company of some of these wonderful women and also had the privilege of meeting Mikey’s mum. Thank you to Nikki Lewis for sharing the video and to Cat Benson for allowing me to share with you

Alfie Boe – exciting album and Storytelller DVD news!

Hot on the heels of news of Alfie Boe filming Mr Selfridge this week, comes Amazon UK’s listing of Alfie’s new album (not yet titled) to be released 4 November 2013.

We heard last week that Alfie has been recording this album in LA with Booker T Jones and Leland Sklar amongst others and now to know when this will be released – sheer joy!

Part of the fun in following Alfie is anticipating the upcoming events and appearances, chatting about what tracks can be expected on the album and in concert. Some say this detracts from the pleasure of listening to the end product but in my case, I can definitely say that anticipation is everything…can’t wait to listen to this album which will absolutely amazing I’m sure xx

Just when you think you can’t get more excited…you can pre-order the Storyteller Live at the Royal Albert Hall DVD on Amazon UK – release date December 2013
